I've got 2 more episodes until I'm done Shades of Truth and I'm on episode 9 of Burning Flame III. I'll be writing a review for Shades of Truth soon. I discovered something similar about Wong He's characters in both series, he thinks that his male co-stars are gay! In Shades of Truth, he thinks that Julian is gay because Julian kept trying to convince him that they were good brothers 900 years ago. Wong He and Julian are absolutely hilarious when they are seen together. I love how Julian tries everything to recover Wong He's memories while Wong He just finds him too close for comfort. In Burning Flame III, Wong He thinks that Bosco is gay because he kept thanking Wong He for saving him. Here are more wallpapers of Burning Flame III, I've always wondered what's going on in the 28th picture there.
I was watching some videos of Burning Flame III and found a music video starring Wong He and Myolie. The song matched the theme really well and it was really touching. The song that was used is translated as Cow in English and it's sung by Eason Chan. In case you haven't started on Burning Flame III, Wong He is nicknamed cow because of his hard working habits.
How does everyone like Burning Flame III? I can't really say that I love it but I do enjoy watching it and am getting hooked. Let's do a little recap of the exciting scenes within the first three episodes.
[01] In the very first scene, we see Bosco and Oscar running away from an open fire in the dog field. I don't know if I should call them clumsy or it was merely just an accident but they end up plunging their car into a river. Luckily Wong He drives pass to see them struggling to return to land so he dives in to rescue them. This scene was a great opening scene for Burning Flame III. I love how they've already set up Wong He's brave character. Wong He said that if they were to categorize the excitement of these scenes into A, B, and C, then this one would only be in category B. I can't wait to see what the future fire scenes are going to bring.
[02] There is also another scene where Bosco is once again saved by Wong He. This time it wasn't Bosco's fault. In fact, he was trying to save his friend who was caught under some furniture. Wong He's character is further established when we see him reeling the elevator up by hand. This scene also somewhat reveals Bosco's potential in becoming a fireman which is what Wong He tells him. We also see Kevin taking credit that belonged to Wong He.
[03] This scene is a road accident. There was nothing really special about this scene but it shows the warm and caring side of Wong He's character, Chung Yau Shing.
I'm a little biased with choosing the scenes right? I know they're all about Wong He but I can't help it! People are debating who the first male lead is. Who do you think it is? I've set up a poll, so please vote! Personally, I don't think Kevin can steal the limelight from Wong He in a Burning Flame series so my vote goes to him. I know there are a lot of people watching for Kevin though. I also want to make a comment about the female leads. I'm quite disappointed by the choice. First of all, I'm not a fan of Myolie so that says a lot. Her acting is not bad so I'm okay with her casted here but I'd much rather see Tavia Yeung or Jessica Hsuan here. But why Aimee Chan? Huge disappointment. It's even worse when I compare Esther Kwan (Burning Flame I) and Maggie Cheung (Burning Flame II) with the female leads here. I won't complain too much, maybe they'll surprise me. Here are the wallpapers from TVB's page for Burning Flame III.
It makes me wonder, why are the majority of them of Kevin?
Guess what? I actually started watching Burning Flame II because only three episodes are released for Burning Flame III here. I really like the Wong He and Jessica scenes. I think they make a great couple here. I actually like their chemistry here in these short scenes more than in A Matter of Customs. I've heard people complaining about Jessica's acting here which is quite sad considering her small role and I think she's a great actress. Anyways, back on topic. I can't believe they're married but they still act like kids. They were cursing each other, saying that they won't live pass 30. And if you've watched this, you'll know that they both don't.
It's Jenny Shing! Isn't she so cute? I thought I'd just take a screen capture of her because she's cute. I also love her relationship with Wong He's Gei Duk Tin. And I also want to mention Ram Tseung, he's so random here but I love his character. Where has Annie Man gone? She hasn't been around for ages. I miss seeing her, she was a pretty good actress. I also discovered that Bosco and Leila are in here. It would've been nice if they were paired.
All the hype about Burning Flame has got me hooked onto this series. I wish they would release quicker here. And remember to vote!
Every painter has his piece of art and so does every artist. Wong He's representative piece has to be Burning Flame. From the first one in 1998, to the second one in 2002 and finally, to the third one now (2009), Wong He has been the soul of the Burning Flame series. I, like many of you, am watching the third one for Wong He. It's a shame that Burning Flame III will conclude the Burning Flame series. Wong He says that if there was to be a Burning Flame IV, it would be far in the future and by that time, he won't have the energy and capability to handle the dangerous acts. You can watch the small clip of what Wong He thinks about Burning Flame at his TVB blog. He talks about his 10 years experience with Burning Flame and also mentions his most memorable scene. You can see him crying at the end, this series must mean a lot to him. Is it true that they once decided not to cast Wong He in Burning Flame III?

My neck has grown long from all the waiting. I've started watching Burning Flame III and so far, up to episode 3, I'm really enjoying it. Wong He's first appearance is really big. He drives pass to see a car out in the river. He calls the Fire Department for help before jumping in to save the two boys. I heard when they were filming, they used 15 fireman hoses around a shallow river to get the effect. It turned out very realistic. The first and second one has been very successful and I'm hoping that this one would be too. Wong He hasn't changed at all, he's still as fit as he was 10 years ago. I've always thought that Kevin was well built but he just can't be compared to Wong He. Don't you just love how Wong He has this thing with not buttoning up his shirt? You can sort of see his six-pack. I'm kind of curious about the love triangle between Wong He, Myolie, and Kevin. I don't think Wong He and Myolie match, she looks better with Kevin. I remember in Burning Flame II, Jessica Hsuan played Wong He's wife. Their scenes were really short, but they were really cute. I wish they could've casted Jessica in this instead of having two men fight over a girl. Oh and did I mention how I love Oscar Leung in this? His character is so hilarious, I like the chemistry between him and Bosco. And also, what is up with casting Sam Chan as a firefighter? How can one possibly feel confident seeing him trying to save you?
I was only able to grab a hold of the first three episodes for Burning Flame III so I decided to check out Burning Flame II. Wong He looks exactly the same besides his shorter hair in the second one. I was watching a bit of it and guess who I found? Kenneth Ma and Ron Ng! I took some screen captures of them and they both look somewhat different from now. Back then, they were just cameos. I also didn't know that Jack Wu was in this. And not to mention, Jenny Shing is so cute! I think I might re-watch this, there are so many series that I want to revisit.
After watching some Burning Flame, I was about to turn off the television until I saw Nick Cheung in his doctor suit. Immediately, I knew it was The Last Breakthrough. So instead of going to sleep, I watched more television! The Last Breakthrough is another one of my favourite series. I especially loved the scenes in Kenya. The theme song sung by Raymond is translated as Love Is Close in English. The melody and the lyrics are so full of life. It's very meaningful and suits the theme of this series well. I watched a bit of episode 5 and episode 6 yesterday. I really like the short melody they play before the commercial. I might also re-watch this series when I have time. I decided to post up the song and lyrics for you guys to enjoy!
