Shooting Stars is a mini interview show hosted by ordinary people with a touching life story. Amongst the three hosts is Siu Lam. Siu Lam is a cancer patient. Even though she fell ill, she takes on a optimistic view of life. She has been fighting with her illness for around 6 years and released a book titled, "Wow! I'm Still Not Dead!" The artists she interviewed include Wong Cho Lam, Wong He, Eman Lam, Louise Lee, Tracy Ip, and Fala Chen. The interviews are very heart-warming to watch. You'll see a deep talk about life and death from Wong He and a touching father and son story from Wong Cho Lam.

After many years of struggle, Siu Lam has finally gotten good news from her doctor about a week ago. I'm sure her story will bring hope to those around the world and as for myself, I do feel that miracles exist. The following song was played during Siu Lam and her family's interview. The lyrics are also very encouraging, enjoy!

Club Sparkle: Rosy Business

June 8, 2009

Since I'm on summer holidays I had a lot of time on my hands so I decided to watch some variety shows and interviews. Originally, I was going to make a post about Beautiful Cooking II but I changed my mind because I just finished watching this. For this episode, they invited the main cast from Rosy Business: Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, Susan Tse, Kiki Sheung, and Kara Hui. I'll write a review for Rosy Business soon.

They pretty much just talked about their collaboration in Rosy Business and some of their rumours. It sounds like they had a lot of fun filming. I wonder why there were so many rumours about Kiki being bossy and stuff. I think that was the first topic they brought up and no one really answered Sandra which makes it somewhat suspicious. I remember I watched this other episode of Club Sparkle where Kiki was also the guest. For some reason, she always has on this expression that makes her look angry and offended.

There was this one part when Susan compliments Wayne for his expression during the scene where Nancy kisses him. Then Kiki said that she didn't get to see it so she requests for Wayne to do a demonstration. Then I think it was Sandra or Chin Ka Lok who tells Kiki to kiss Wayne. It was really funny when Wayne says, "You have to give me that feeling" while waving at Kiki to come to him. Meaning he needs to get kissed in order to produce that reaction.

They brought up the rumours about Sheren not dating for the past 10 years. Then Chin Ka Lok suddenly blurts out "bao chak" (chopped lips). That was very random but very funny as well. If you don't get it, what he means is that when you don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend to kiss, your lips become dry and chopped. Sandra asked how Sheren chooses her scripts and whether she chose this one because of Wayne or not. She said yes! Well, I wouldn't be surprised. Wayne was very cute when Sheren was complimenting him. I don't really know what it is he was doing but he had his head down and he was playing with his jeans or rubbing is legs or something. He looked like a lost and confused little boy.

Oh, and they also asked Wayne and Sheren whether or not they think they'll get the TV King/Queen awards this year. I'm really hoping that they would give the award to these two. Let's just hope people won't forget them by the end of the year. Chin Ka Lok kept saying that Laughing was only a supporting character but I heard that he's a 4th line lead? I really liked Laughing's character but I just loved Chai Gau that much more. I'm glad Wayne said no to an alternative ending because I still stand strong on my view that a dead character leaves a much deeper and longer lasting mark in the audience's heart. I'm rooting for Wayne for TV King this year. Like he says, let Chai Gau live in our hearts!

Boom Boom Ba Special: Ella Koon

April 21, 2009

Has anyone watched the special edition/episode of Boom Boom Ba? They went to Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The episode wasn't all that great and I didn't really like watching people when I had no idea who they were. But anyways, the Hong Kong representatives consisted of Kenny Wong, Sammy Leung, and Ella Koon! Have I ever mentioned how much I love Ella in variety shows? She always makes the most fun out of it (to watch, at least). It was funny how Harlem was supposed to treat them to dinner but he ended up giving them instant noodles.

Anyways, back to the games. The first game they played is the one that they usually get the audience to do. It's the one where they have to sing the theme song and go as high as they could. Ella was such a failure at it. Everyone just gave her a somewhat confused expression before they all cracked up. Being a singer, I thought she would at least sing in tune.

Another funny game was Blue Blue Blue. Unlike how they played it in normal episodes, they were actually in a pool. At first, all three of them were singing but then Sammy had to do it alone. He was doing fine until Ella suddenly went underwater. I don't know how it happened but she looked like some crazy beast. Then Sammy was like "Water ghost!" and Ella just started to chase him. I wonder why she did that, it wasn't even her turn.

The funniest part though was the foot massage one. If you haven't watched it, two people on each team had to sing while getting a foot massage and the other team has to guess who actually had a real one. It was going normal like we expect it to. So it was time for the other team to guess who was the "fake" one and they pointed at Ella saying, "She's fake!" Ella was really cute at first, smiling at the camera and everything. Then she suddenly comes up with this brilliant idea. Out of nowhere she yells, "How do you know?" and covers her chest. Her reaction was just so hilarious, you have to watch it if you haven't. Very random but cute and funny at the same time.
